Dalesmen Singers Ethos and Values

The choir has a great tradition of music, friendship and helping others. Dalesmen concerts have enabled many different charities to raise funds. We currently have an eclectic mix of members in the choir with different backgrounds and musical experience, but it all comes together as part of the Choir ethos and love of singing.

The Dalesmen Singers strive to achieve a high standard of performance in concerts and are able to achieve this through the humour and talent of a very experienced and talented Musical Director, Steve Maltby. New members should not be put off by the desire for high standards as newcomers, regardless of musical experience are given considerable help to learn their parts and quickly fit in to the Choir. All of this and a wide musical repertoire mean that we are able to entertain and enjoy all kinds of situations that range from Church and village hall concerts to private parties and public performances in prestigeous venues here and abroad.

The Dalesmen Singers also value a strong social programme and with the support of wives partners and friends, enjoy getting together outside of the performances on outings, trips and even the odd gathering in the local pub! There are traditions too so that once a year the Choir holds its traditional Gala night with guest artist and a superb supper organised by the Lady Supporters.
