About the dales
The North Yorkshire
Moors National Park is an area of outstanding natural beauty
in the National Park which encompasses a raised plateau
of heather moor dissected by steep-sided dales feeding
rapidly flowing streams and rivers. The moor contains many
scenes of outstanding natural beauty but this environment
is not entirely natural. For many hundreds of years, it
has been managed for raising grouse and pheasant and has
been grazed by sheep which run free there.

More about
the dales
The Park habitats are
host to many wild creatures including roe deer, otters, bank
voles, and kingfisher. With its many other attractions the
area is a great place to visit for a break or holiday and to
perhaps to link in with a concert. The national park is also
close to the National Heritage coastline a wild, rugged and
beautiful area with magnificent cliffs an beaches. This is
the area where Captain Cook learned his seamanship and where
fishing has had a long tradition.
