The Dalesmen
Home for the Dalemen Singers is iin Danby, one of the picturesque villages in the Esk Valley in the beautiful No rth Yorkshire Moors National Park. Our Male Voice Choir was formed as a result of a ‘pub’ meeting in 1971 at the ‘Duke of Wellington’ in Danby and has continued to grow in stature and success since those early days From that start, the choir has developed a great tradition of friendship and of helping others where Dalesmen Concerts have supported many different charities in raising funds. We have about 40 members in the choir with all kinds of different backgrounds and experiences and togetherness is part of the choir ethos along with a common love of singing. Members come from as far a field as Teesside, Whitby and Pickering and all stops between. The choir is led by the well known and talented musical director, Stephen Maltby and well known and talented accompanist Ann Hartley.
The Dales
The North Yorkshire Moors National Park is an area of outstanding natural moorland beauty dissected by steep-sided dales feeding rapidly flowing streams and rivers. It is also close to the National Heritage coastline a wild, rugged and beautiful area with magnificent cliffs an beaches. This 'off the beaten track' is well worth a visit.
